The Treatment Process

Treatment generally involves placing dental implants, allowing an appropriate healing period, and fitting a removable denture that attaches to the implants. Timing varies according to individual circumstances.Healing time varies between patients, and we’ll give you a personalised timeline at your consultation.

3D bone scan and planning: We take a 3D scan to assess the amount and quality of bone and soft tissue available. We plan the number and position of implants, and explain your options, the risks and limitations, and the cost in writing before you decide.

Placing the implants: Implants are placed following a surgical plan. Whether a temporary denture can be used during healing depends on the individual treatment plan.

Healing: The implants need time to integrate with the bone. Your clinician will tell you how long this is likely to take for you.

Taking the impression or scan: Once healed, we take an impression or digital scan to make your implant-supported denture.

Fitting the denture: Your removable implant-supported denture is fitted and checked for fit, bite and retention. We explain cleaning, removal and ongoing maintenance, and arrange follow-up care.
