What Is All-on-4®?
Losing all or most of your teeth can affect much more than your appearance. It can change how you eat, speak, and feel day to day.
All-on-4® replaces a full arch of teeth with a fixed bridge supported by four dental implants. Your clinician plans the position of each implant using digital imaging, so the treatment fits your jaw and bite.
What All-on-4® Involves
Potential Benefits of All-on-4
- Fixed Full-Arch Replacement: All-on-4 uses four dental implants to support a fixed bridge replacing the teeth in an upper or lower jaw.
- Individual Treatment Planning: Implant positions and the design of the restoration are planned according to your jawbone, bite, oral health and treatment needs.
- Temporary Teeth May Be Possible: Some patients may be suitable for a temporary fixed restoration soon after implant placement. This depends on clinical assessment and implant stability.
How We Plan Your Treatment
The All-on-4® Treatment Process
Consultation and assessment
Your clinician examines your mouth and takes X-rays and a 3D CT scan to assess your bone, gums, and bite. Your treatment plan is based on this assessment.
Treatment planning
We plan implant positions digitally and discuss your options, the risks and limitations, and the cost in writing before you decide.
Surgery
Dental implants are placed according to your individual treatment plan. Local anaesthetic is used, and sedation may be available following an assessment of your suitability.
Temporary teeth and healing
Some patients may receive a temporary fixed bridge shortly after implant placement. Others may need additional healing time before a temporary or final restoration can be fitted. Your dentist will explain the expected timeline.
Final restoration
Once healing is complete, your permanent bridge is fitted. We then review your results and plan follow-up care.
